About the role

  • Procurement Specialist managing procurement activities and supplier relations at Argenta’s Dundee manufacturing site. Focused on driving cost savings and supporting global procurement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for procurement activities across materials and services for the site and globally.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers of materials and services.
  • Negotiate most cost-effective terms for the supply of major contract items.
  • Support and lead global procurement initiatives to standardise material and service providers and reduce costs.
  • Drive Material Change Controls and other required actions.
  • Support Site GM with strategy and business plans by identifying and communicating improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain awareness of market and technology trends and make recommendations to maximise cost saving opportunities.
  • Drive supplier KPIs and procurement strategy to deliver superior customer service and cost savings.
  • Provide input and support for annual customer pricing reviews.
  • Identifies and source new materials in support of PDS.
  • Sets Inventory Standards in collaboration with the Head of Supply Chain.
  • Investigation and resolution of anomalies with material suppliers via Non-Conformance Reports.

Requirements

  • Educated to Bachelors level, or equivalent.
  • Preferably in administration, logistics, supply chain or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years procurement experience across direct material, indirect and capex spend areas.
  • Experience in Animal Health Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMO).
  • Outstanding negotiation skills and ability to build positive relationships with local and overseas suppliers.
  • Experience in procurement across a global landscape of suppliers.
  • Experience in procurement category management techniques.
  • Experience in procurement technologies i.e. eSourcing, Source to Pay.
  • An ability to identify opportunities and create value from complex supply chain (procurement) networks.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and FDA manufacturing regulations.
  • Strong commercial skills and acumen.
  • Highly collaborative and credible, with an ability to engage and influence at senior levels internally.
  • Problem solving skills and analytical assessment abilities to make business critical decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Sound time-management and organizational skills.
