About the role

  • Prototype quickly using AI-native tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) to explore flows and validate ideas

  • Work within the Barracuda design system: Compose and extend components appropriately (core system maintained separately)
  • Make design decisions in code: Balance UX quality with pragmatism and velocity
  • Collaborate with backend engineers: Implement mock data early, integrate APIs, iterate together
  • Test, measure, and refine: Learn from real usage and improve continuously

Requirements

  • Design system literacy — ability to work within constraints and extend appropriately
  • Component thinking and understanding of atomic design principles
  • Ability to make confident aesthetic and UX decisions independently
  • Understanding of accessibility and platform conventions (Material, Cupertino)
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — you can fill gaps without perfect requirements
  • Proactive and outcome-oriented
  • Git and version control workflows
  • Comfortable working in AI-assisted development environments
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (Nice-to-haves)
