Damage Prevention Technician ensuring safety compliance and quality audits for excavation projects in utility services. Visiting sites and collaborating with excavation teams in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
Assure compliance with Code Rule 753 and promote safe excavation practices
Follow strict Utility, State and Federal guidelines relating to damage prevention
Wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) and company uniform
Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures
Participate in safety meetings
Hand out educational materials and public awareness items to excavators
Visit 3rd party excavation sites and construction zones regularly
Collect data using handheld tablet or other collection device
Show courtesy and professionalism when dealing with customers and other employees
Complete Work Orders on assigned dates
Travel to visit sites on occasion
Provide timely reports and documentation to management regularly
Escalate issues and questions to Supervisor when necessary
Maintain a satisfactory attendance record
Keep assigned vehicle clean
Report equipment and vehicle issues immediately
Communicate with dispatchers
Other duties as needed
Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have a valid driver’s license
1 year of continuous work with the same employer, and/or 6 or more months working outdoors
