Responsibilities
Purchase ferrous and non-ferrous metal in alignment with market conditions and company standards
Identify and secure material from industrial accounts, dealers, demolition projects, contractors, repair shops, and retail customers
Visit existing and prospective customers to strengthen relationships and uncover new opportunities
Actively pursue and qualify new material suppliers
Maintain accurate records of buying activities, prospecting efforts, sales, and follow-up actions
Deliver responsive internal and external service for ferrous and non-ferrous operations
Process inquiries, account setups, vendor setups, and pricing updates in SAP and Scrap Dragon
Partner with traders and operations teams to manage inventory and cost data
Coordinate forecasts and buying strategies to optimize sales, margins, and inventory turnover
Requirements
3-5 years of outside sales experience
Experience in ferrous and non-ferrous (NF) buying preferred
Strong interpersonal skills required
Ability to work independently while demonstrating a strong sense of teamwork
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
Strong computer skills with a preference for SAP or related experience
