About the role
- Lead technical direction and architectural decisions; contribute to backend and frontend development
- Manage and mentor engineers; support their growth and maintain high-performing culture
- Design and implement scalable, maintainable systems with focus on quality, security, and reliability
- Collaborate with product managers and UX to build features for farmers
- Empower team to own solutions end-to-end from design to deployment and monitoring
- Raise best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and system reliability
- Align stakeholders including VP of Engineering and integrate work into the larger platform
- Report to VP of Engineering
Requirements
- 7+ years in software engineering with strong backend experience or solid frontend skills
- At least 2 years as a tech lead or manager
- Hands-on coding and technical decision-making skills
- Experience coaching engineers and providing feedback
- Experience working with product managers, UX, firmware, data science, and mobile teams
- Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience
- Preferably experience in a scale-up or startup environment
- Fluent English oral and written communication skills
