About the role

  • Join Civica’s User Experience team and play a key role in shaping products that make a real difference.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to craft visually engaging, accessible, and user-friendly experiences that balance user needs with business goals.
  • Craft visually compelling, pixel-perfect user interfaces that are both beautiful and highly usable, ensuring they meet accessibility standards and align with business goals.
  • Work closely with product designers, product managers, engineers, and researchers to bring designs to life throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop high-fidelity prototypes to communicate design ideas, run design reviews, and iterate based on feedback, research, and data insights.
  • Use and contribute to the Firefly design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to established design principles.
  • Advocate for inclusive design and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
  • Promote a collaborative, positive and feedback-driven culture focused on continuous improvement, creativity and design excellence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in visual/product design roles, working across multiple platforms and industries, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality digital products.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional visual design skills, including UI design, typography, colour theory, and layout across web, mobile, and other digital platforms.
  • Ability to translate big ideas into visually compelling and user-friendly interfaces, making complex tasks intuitive and delightful.
  • Skilled in creating high-fidelity prototypes and collaborating with researchers, product designers, and developers to refine and test designs.
  • Deliver high-quality designs that reflect and evolve Civica’s brand, adapting to the changing needs of modern digital experiences.
  • Experience using and contributing to design systems, ensuring design consistency and scalability across multiple platforms.
  • Knowledge of accessibility principles and best practices, ensuring designs comply with WCAG and other relevant standards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain design decisions clearly, collaborate effectively, and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Support and inspire other designers, promoting continuous improvement and raising the quality and impact of the team’s work.
  • Proficient in design tools such as Figma, FigJam, and other relevant platforms and plug-ins for creating, presenting, and delivering high-quality design work.
