About the role

  • Assist in the development of category strategies and lead local execution activities in support of K-C North America and K-C Professional businesses to achieve variable cost productivity, working capital, and business financial goals.
  • Lead supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management processes, including managing the entire contract life cycle from request for proposal (RFP) to supplier exit.
  • Work closely with the global procurement category leader, business units and cross-functional teams to achieve strategic sourcing objectives for the commodity.
  • Provide input into global category strategy based on market dynamics, supplier landscape, and business needs.
  • Lead execution of North America strategy & implementation plan and execute regional sourcing events, working with Agile Squads.
  • Support and/or lead execution of category strategic initiatives and coordinate with regional business stakeholders on category needs and strategy (e.g., collect business requirements).
  • Manage region-specific supplier relationships, escalate and resolve region-specific supplier continuity issues.
  • Support in the creation and maintenance of category knowledge and processes to ensure the category strategies are informed, relevant and up to date.
  • Monitor supplier performance indicators and initiate supplier reviews as required to drive improvement and reduce risk across the regional enterprise.
  • Ensure compliance to K-C Policies and internal controls and build trust and credibility with suppliers.
  • Maintain an effective business relationship with all suppliers and stakeholders based on clear, concise group and personal communication.
  • Join the Global Procurement team and report to the Global Corrugate Category Leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution in business, supply chain or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement, preferred experience in category management
  • Intellectually curious, strong analytical skills
  • Business acumen, excellent communication skills (both written and oral), able to communicate up and across the organization
  • Cross functional collaboration & influencing, functional and technical awareness
  • Strong project management, process improvement, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a heavily matrixed organization
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
