About the role
- Senior Pricing Analyst supporting market models' performance improvement for Hastings Direct. Collaborating with Data Scientists and Pricing Practitioners using advanced analytics and ML techniques.
Responsibilities
- Support in the generation and assessment of leads for improving the performance of Hastings’ suite of market models, using traditional and latest pricing and modelling techniques.
- Maintain a robust technical understanding of the market models built by Market Pricing.
- Maintain strong knowledge and understanding of market trends.
- Conduct analytical and ML analysis using market data, using or trialling existing toolkits where relevant.
- Create and maintain analytical and ML tools to support, standardise and automate lead generation.
- Identify ways for extracting value out of existing and new data.
- Present insights and proposed solutions to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience in general insurance
- Strong data analytics skills with a track record of generating insight and commercial value.
- Strong interest in emerging market trends.
- Familiarity with at least two coding languages (e.g. SQL, R and Python) or demonstrable ability to quickly pick up these languages.
- Experience in developing statistical models (traditional GLMs or ML).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Modellers and Pricing Practitioners.
