About the role
- Senior Platform Certification Engineer providing aviation certification and safety assurance services for the UK Military Defence sector. Supporting technical delivery on projects across the aerospace spectrum.
Responsibilities
- Support in the development and delivery of aviation certification and safety assurance services
- Provide engineering expertise to a large team of multi-discipline aerospace engineers
- Support clients in providing the UK with airworthy, safe, sustainable military capability
- Initial platform certification and type airworthiness
- Continuing airworthiness and technical delivery of projects
- Join an expanding team to support and lead technical delivery on projects across the aerospace spectrum
Requirements
- Extensive aerospace engineering background
- Practitioner in platform certification or airworthiness
- 5+ years’ experience of leading engineering teams as either a senior NCO or junior engineering officer or civilian equivalent
- Chartered Engineer (C Eng) or working towards Chartership (with RAeS , IMechE or IET)
- Demonstrable technical experience of working in a platform certification environment, in the aviation industry, including:
- Safety work within a Platform Delivery Team or similar
- Certification requirements and compliance
- Working with EASA CS or Military MAC-P / DefSTAN 970 Standard
- Requirements management; Safety and assurance of a platform; Test, trials and acceptance.
- Strong customer-focused attitude
- Understanding of the different air safety aspects of an air systems life cycle.
