About the role

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of processes
  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and reconciliations
  • Manage the general ledger system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and maintain chart of accounts and master data integrity
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance) and remediate control deficiencies
  • Oversee cash management and banking relationships, including daily cash positioning and forecasting
  • Responsible for complex accounting areas: revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), stock-based compensation, consolidations, foreign currency translations, and business combinations
  • Manage the consolidation process for domestic and international subsidiaries, ensuring intercompany eliminations and minority interest calculations
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive accounting policies and procedures
  • Serve as a key liaison with external auditors and manage the audit process
  • Provide leadership, training, and succession planning for the accounting team
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Internal Audit, and IT on strategic initiatives
  • Participate in strategic projects and present financial information to senior management
  • Position reports to the Assistant Controller and works across senior management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA highly preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a significant portion in a large, publicly traded company environment
  • Demonstrated experience with SEC reporting requirements and US GAAP
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Experience with NetSuite is highly preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
