About the role

  • Oversee the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, billing, cash management, and general ledger functions.
  • Review contracts and ensure proper setup and billing compliance within the accounting system.
  • Partner with project managers to review job progress, prepare monthly billings, and ensure timely revenue recognition.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, manage collections, and communicate payment status and issues to leadership.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank accounts, prepaids, and other balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Analyze job cost reports and perform cost reclassifications as needed.
  • Support year-end audit activities, including preparation of revenue confirmations and schedules.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience; construction or cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of job cost accounting, materials cost accounting, and general financial accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage 300 CRE or similar accounting systems preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a professional and collaborative demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
