Own global supply chain strategy for battery raw materials at Form Energy. Manage sourcing and supplier relationships for critical components in pioneering energy storage technology.
Responsibilities
Own the battery raw materials and coatings category at Form (e.g., specialty chemicals, metals, carbons, binders, resins, and coatings), including commercial relationships and contracts within our supply base and value chain
Monitor current category market conditions, evaluating capacities and competitive landscapes, technology roadmaps and supply challenges & opportunities
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Supplier Industrialization, Manufacturing, and Leadership to define and drive execution of Form’s battery materials sourcing strategy
Negotiate and deliver favorable commercial terms that optimize costs, lead times, and risk
Ensure Form is working with best-in-class suppliers and mitigating risks by managing the end-to-end sourcing process from supplier identification through RFP, business award, and continuous improvement
Secure best-in-class pricing through detailed price analysis and negotiations, continual cost reductions, cost avoidance, and logistics optimization
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar discipline
5+ years of relevant category experience in battery raw materials, chemicals, or coatings, including relevant manufacturing methods and market/pricing dynamics
5+ years of sourcing experience, including supplier management, running RFX’s, and driving continuous improvement, in a fluid, fast-paced, manufacturing environment
Strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to generate bottom-up "should-cost" models based on an understanding of manufacturing processes; strong with spreadsheets
Solid understanding of commercial terms, contract structures, and IP concepts
Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to ruthlessly prioritize across multiple tasks and projects
Ability to work in the US and travel globally as necessary, up to 30%.
