About the role

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the entire Americas Accounting function.
  • Proactively provide guidance on regional accounting implications of business transformations.
  • Lead coordination of the group's global transfer pricing calculations and annual true-up processes.
  • Act as primary regional contact for external auditors and accounting/tax advisors.
  • Partner with internal departments to resolve complex accounting issues and support business projects.
  • Lead the monthly and annual closing processes for all Americas entities.
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements ensuring compliance.
  • Act as focal point with the Central Bank of Brazil for financial reports.
  • Oversee full compliance with local regulatory requirements across all Americas entities.
  • Supervise and develop the Americas Accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and automation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience: Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in a senior accounting leadership role within a dynamic multinational company.
  • Expertise: Deep, up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting standards, statutory reporting, and navigating complex global regulatory environments. Experience in payments and fintech is preferred.
  • Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams. Exceptional communication skills to influence and partner with colleagues.
  • Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Law is required. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and English is essential.
  • Mindset: Strategic thinker with high integrity and strong business acumen.
