Responsibilities
Further develop internal policies, control mechanisms and reporting structures to ensure sustainable quality assurance
Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, including consolidation at group level
Serve as primary contact for external auditors and oversee all audit processes
Provide technical and organizational leadership for a 15-person accounting team, ensuring timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements in accordance with national and international accounting standards (HGB & IFRS)
Own tax-related matters including filings, compliance and development of an internal control framework
Oversee liquidity planning, cash projections and monitoring of short-term financial investments
Support financial due diligence for strategic transactions and investment decisions
Initiate and implement efficiency and digitization projects in the finance area using modern systems and automation solutions
Promote and develop specialist finance professionals within the area of responsibility
Maintain a professional network with external advisors, institutions and relevant stakeholders
Requirements
Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field; additional qualifications (e.g., international accounting certifications) are a plus
Several years of solid professional experience in accounting with leadership responsibilities in a dynamic corporate environment
Strong knowledge of accounting under HGB (German GAAP) & IFRS
Experience with consolidation, financial reporting and analysis of complex data structures
Solid understanding of tax frameworks and requirements
Proficiency with ERP systems and digital finance tools
Strong analytical thinking with a structured, solution-oriented working style
German and English language skills at C1 level or higher
Leadership skills with a focus on team culture, motivation and sustainable development
Experience in scaling business models or technology-driven environments is advantageous
