About the role
- Product Owner responsible for the complete product development cycle in an AI-first SaaS startup. Focus on user-centered product development and collaboration with a founding team.
Responsibilities
- Own the entire product development lifecycle — from discovery to delivery
- Define, prioritize, scope, and deprecate features — you help make the decisions
- Define new features: create PRDs, user stories, workflows, and UI/UX designs — always focusing on exceptional UX and accounting for all edge cases
- Facilitate roadmap planning and prioritization — based on impact, not on who shouts the loudest
- Lead product meetings, refinements, sprint kick-offs, and review meetings (we do not have a Scrum Master)
- Conduct user research with real customers and use analytics to understand and improve user needs and processes
- Perform high-level bug/root-cause analyses and reproduce critical issues
- Perform manual QA and testing as the final quality gate
- Experiment with AI tools to accelerate discovery, analysis, and delivery
- Continuously improve our product workflows and team processes
Requirements
- Experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager in a SaaS startup or scale-up (ideally B2B)
- Proven track record of building/rebuilding products from scratch and successfully bringing them to market
- Strong UI/UX skills: confident in creating wireframes, mockups, and design flows
- Hands-on user research experience and an analytical mindset
- Excellent prioritization skills and the ability to manage trade-offs in a fast-paced environment
- Curious and AI-minded: willingness to try new tools, follow the AI ecosystem, and apply it to your work
- Technical expertise: high-level understanding of APIs, system integrations, and SaaS architecture; ability to collaborate with engineers in technical discussions
- Strong communicator who can work effectively with founders, engineers, and customers alike
- Based in the Düsseldorf area (or willing to travel regularly) — hybrid working with flexibility
- Fluent in German, both spoken and written
