About the role

  • Member Consultant II delivering financial services and support to BECU members. Identifying and addressing consumer financial needs while providing expertise in specialized financial services.

Responsibilities

  • delivering a seamless and high-quality member experience
  • identifying, diagnosing, and addressing members’ consumer financial needs
  • referring members to specialized services when necessary
  • serving as a subject matter expert, resolving members' needs and providing expertise in specialized financial services
  • utilizing product knowledge to provide excellent customer service and sales
  • assisting the community with financial wellness through financial education programs, budgeting assistance, debt management, or access to financial planning resources

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum two years of experience in a sales-oriented, financial, or retail environment
  • One year of experience in a financial institution is desired
  • Thorough understanding of the sales process and ability to manage a sales pipeline efficiently
  • Strong proficiency and comfort level with learning new systems and programs
  • Ability to successfully complete 12-week in-house training program after hire
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Credit Union key objectives, product and service solutions
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to membership, deposit, and loan products and services offered
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to enable daily communication with Members
  • Proficient math aptitude and analytical skills
  • Problem resolution, negotiating, organization, multi-tasking and peer coaching skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
