About the role

  • Lead numismatic research and programs at PCGS, a collectibles grading and authentication company. Drive market insights, content, and industry partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Guide Numismatic Market Activity and Insights: Monitor market activity, auction trends, and collector behavior to produce timely insights and concise briefings for leadership and the business.
  • Steward CoinFacts and the Set Registry: Own content direction, accuracy, and day-to-day prioritization in collaboration with Product, Data, and Grading.
  • Create Customer Targeted Editorial Content: Write and commission articles and analysis for PCGS publications and develop educational content.
  • Serve as Numismatic Contact for Leadership and the Business: Act as internal go-to for complex numismatic questions and translate expert knowledge into clear recommendations.
  • Be an External Escalation Point and Relationship Builder: Engage with key collectors, dealers, and industry partners to resolve complex issues and build trust; identify and cultivate partnerships.
  • Cross-Functional Enablement: Equip Marketing, Sales, and Business Development with market context, competitive intelligence, and program updates.
  • Partner with Grading and Research to ensure alignment on standards, terminology, and published guidance.
  • Future Team Building: Help shape vision, processes, and talent needs for a future Numismatic Research team, including mentoring junior contributors.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years in numismatics, publishing, research, analytics, or adjacent fields.
  • Numismatic communicator with the ability to explain complex topics clearly across written, visual, and spoken formats.
  • Analytical and market-Aware with a track record of converting data and signals into actionable insights.
  • Platform-Minded and customer-centric with appreciation for how pricing, data, and content platforms serve collectors and dealers.
  • Executive ready communicator who can brief leadership and represent PCGS credibly with external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative operator comfortable working across Grading, Product, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Emerging people leader motivated to help build a Numismatic Research capability over time.
  • Demonstrated success creating content for collectors or market stakeholders.
  • Established network in the numismatic community is a plu.
  • Comfortable presenting to leadership and in high-visibility industry settings.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15–20% for shows, partner meetings, and PCGS events.
  • Must be based in the U.S.; Collectors uses e-Verify to validate ability to work legally in the United States.
