About the role

  • Execute managerial responsibilities including hiring, work assignment, training, and performance oversight
  • Design, implement, and maintain the Codes and Standards library to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry best practices
  • Oversee QA/QC processes and lead After Action Reviews (AAR) and Root Cause Analyses (RCA)
  • Administer Management of Change (MOC) program and support MOC development in other departments
  • Coordinate with procurement to maintain the Approved Materials List and facilitate Material Standards Committee meetings
  • Develop and manage tracking database and dashboards for procedures and technical standards
  • Oversee periodic reviews and updates to ensure compliance with federal and state codes and referenced standards
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for federal (PHMSA) and state natural gas code interpretation and communicate regulatory impacts to stakeholders
  • Support pipeline safety and integrity programs and initiatives
  • Monitor industry trends and external rulemaking activities and assess impacts to the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution, or a minimum of five years of experience in codes, standards, and regulatory compliance related to natural gas transmission and/or distribution systems
  • 5–7 years of experience in developing and managing codes and standards for the construction and operation of natural gas transmission or distribution facilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable national standards including 49 CFR Parts 190 & 192 and ASME B31.8
  • Hands-on experience in developing natural gas codes, standards, and product specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction and effectively manage a team of professionals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, reporting, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Excellent oral communication and technical writing abilities
  • Proven interpersonal skills including problem-solving, decision-making, influencing, and managing change
