About the role
- Lead Mainframe Security Admin position at SS&C, managing mainframe security in hybrid/remote setup. Collaborating with various IT teams and ensuring security compliance.
Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain mainframe security policies in a Top Secret and RACF environment
- Create, update, and manage user IDs, passwords, and access rules to ensure users only have access to necessary data and resources
- Monitor system security, review security logs, and perform regular security audits to detect and report violations and vulnerabilities
- Respond to security incidents and perform forensic analysis to understand and mitigate threats
- Ensure the mainframe environment complies with internal security policies and external regulations
- Work with application developers, other IT teams, and compliance officers to support application onboarding, resolve security issues, and implement security requirements
Requirements
- Proficiency with mainframe security software (RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret)
- Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and other mainframe tools
- Experience with security auditing, vulnerability assessments, and threat analysis
- Proficiency in scripting languages like REXX for automation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical risks to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Understanding of compliance standards and audit processes
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms
