  • Cyber Network Security Engineer supporting federal government cyber missions and operations. Managing network security systems like firewalls while driving innovation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Network security hardware, software, and cloud security services
  • Collaborate with CyberOps and OCIO support staff
  • Drive outcomes and innovation in security challenges
  • Utilize CyberOps and network log analytics tools
  • Plan, document, and implement hardware/software refresh of Palo Alto perimeter devices
  • Conduct firewall rule set reviews and audits
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and guides
  • Attend weekly teleconferences and meetings related to security

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience
  • US Citizenship Required
  • 10+ years IT network engineering support experience (Tier II, Tier III)
  • Knowledge of IPv6 and its implementation
  • 3+ years supporting cloud environments (AWS and Azure)
  • Competence with Linux and firewall command line interfaces
  • Expert experience with security devices like Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Checkpoint
  • Intermediate Linux experience and basic scripting knowledge
  • Experience with network monitoring and log analysis applications such as Splunk Enterprise
