About the role

  • Maintain and update the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and IT Asset Management systems to reflect accurate hardware and software inventory.
  • Track asset lifecycle activities including acquisition, deployment, moves, adds, changes, returns, and disposals.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and monitor usage to reduce risk of overuse or underutilization.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to receive and validate IT assets, ensure proper tagging, and verify asset records.
  • Conduct regular audits, physical inventories, and reconciliation of IT assets to ensure data integrity.
  • Develop and maintain asset documentation, workflows, and process improvements aligned with ITIL and company standards.
  • Support asset forecasting, reporting, and budget planning by providing insights on asset utilization and lifecycle status.
  • Assist with responding to internal and external audits related to IT asset management, licensing, and compliance.
  • Work with Security and Legal to support data sanitization and secure disposal of end-of-life equipment.
  • Work closely with IT, Finance, Procurement, and Security teams to ensure asset management practices meet business needs and audit requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, or a related role.
  • Experience working in an IT department or supporting technical teams
  • Familiarity with asset management tools and systems (e.g., Jira Asset Management, Snipe, Asset Panda, SCCM, JAMF, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets and inventory records.
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware types (laptops, servers, peripherals) and software licensing.
  • Certification in IT Asset Management (e.g., ITAM, CHAMP, or CSAM).
  • Experience with ITIL practices and ITSM platforms.
  • Understanding of software compliance and audits (Google, Microsoft, Adobe, etc.).
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite at Dallas, TX or San Francisco, CA (reporting into the office 3-days per week).
