Accountable for legal advice provided to the Transport business (Black Horse, Lex Autolease and Tusker) including sales and distribution channels\n• Provide counsel on all legal matters impacting the Transport business and strategic management of high-risk legal issues\n• Oversight of customer journeys under Consumer Credit Act and FCA regulated frameworks, ESG, contract negotiations and redress programmes\n• Lead, develop, and coach the Transport Legal team\n• Work closely with Senior and Extended Leadership Teams across L&S to provide specialist legal advice and contribute to L&S strategy\n• Proactively manage, develop, and maintain intra-group relationships to manage legal issues of common interest\n• Actively participate in external industry bodies and forums and handle relationships with external legal panel firms
Requirements
Qualified and highly experienced lawyer with significant experience of working at senior management level\n• Proven leadership skills with the ability to work with people at all levels and to effectively challenge\n• A high level of judgment in both technical and tactical areas, operating strategically and supporting others to manage the detail\n• Relationship Management skills; comfortable working with Executive level colleagues\n• People Management – manage, mentor, lead and develop colleagues with an inclusive approach\n• Exploring new ways of handling legal risk through technology and using data\n• Change management experience; action-orientated leader able to challenge existing thinking and lead agile transformations\n• Strong communication skills and storytelling ability to inspire a team\n• Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks related to vehicle finance and leasing industry\n• A good understanding of the Transport business and economic and political factors impacting the Group\n• Risk Management experience and ability to lead risk effectively\n• Experience contributing to significant technology led change and major change programmes
