About the role

  • Provide VAT technical support to Head of Indirect Taxes and the business (rates, partial exemption, rebates, integration of new businesses)
  • Manage, support and review outputs of VAT Associates preparing VAT returns across the Group
  • Manage the VAT control framework and identify/implement process improvements while ensuring MTD compliance
  • Provide ad hoc project support (ERP implementation, M&A and restructuring advice)
  • Collaborate closely with commercial operations and international colleagues
  • Directly manage a team of VAT Associates and report to Head of Indirect Taxes

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant or tax advisor
  • Several years’ post-qualification with evidence of CPD
  • Experience in practice or industry (or combination)
  • Proven track record in VAT
  • Working knowledge of VAT across multiple territories
  • Ability to understand and explain technical VAT issues
  • Ability to quantify, communicate and manage VAT risk
  • Effective communicator; build relationships with international colleagues and third-party advisors
  • Strong time management; manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, changing environment
  • Desire to identify improvements and drive change
