About the role
- Preparation of monthly management accounts to meet internal and external reporting deadlines
- Prepare reports for executive management with corresponding analysis and commentary
- Provide detailed performance analysis against plan and explain variances across revenue and cost lines
- Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts (particular focus)
- Twice-monthly revenue reporting and analysis presented to executive management
- Work with business divisions to assist production of timely and accurate financial forecasts and budgets
- Business partnering with key managers to understand business performance and address financial requirements
- Continual review of current financial processes, identifying improvements and introducing cross-functional changes
- Work with credit controller to reduce and manage aged debt and report weekly to management
- Support the annual audit process
- Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team as required
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 1-2 years post qualification experience in an industry role
- 1+ years of post-qualification experience (explicit application question)
- Prior experience within listed or private-equity backed businesses, audit or otherwise (preferred)
- Exceptional analytical skills (sophisticated Excel)
- Very strong numeracy and comfortable handling large data sets
- Excellent communicator with experience developing relationships with internal partners
- Strong report writing experience and excellent presentation skills
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of finance's role in strategic decision making
- Well organised with experience working to deadlines
- Previous management accounting experience
- Prior experience with system design and migration (advantage)
- Ability to self-manage multiple priorities, routine work and urgent issues
- Proactive problem-resolution focus
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Aptitude for identifying and implementing operational and system improvements
- Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Customer focused and collaborative
