Address and resolve in-service issues related to airplane Network & recording, cabin & display systems, Auto-Flight, Flight Management Systems & Air Data/Inertial Reference Systems, Communications, Navigation, Surveillance systems
Work directly with airline customers to analyze network, cabin, flight management, navigation, communications, and surveillance systems
Develop and perform tests to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Support emergent issues and important airline meetings off-hours; provide 24/7 customer support
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and variable shift schedules, including weekends and overtime as required
Support all Boeing Commercial Airplane models in-service and under development (747, 767, 777, 787, 737NG, 737 MAX, 777X, next generation)
Develop and document moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Design hardware, software and interface specifications; test and validate system designs
Solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Research specific technology advances and potential application to company business needs
Assist in monitoring supplier performance and ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Aerospace) required; Master’s acceptable
8-12 years related work experience with Bachelor’s degree (or 8+ years with Master’s degree)
Experience with airplane Network & recording, cabin & display systems, Auto-Flight, Flight Management Systems, Air Data/Inertial Reference Systems, Communications, Navigation, Surveillance systems (preferred)
Proficient with ATA Specification aircraft maintenance documentation, manuals, and service actions (preferred)
Computer skill proficiency including aircraft-related systems and proprietary software systems (for example, PDM)
Fluent with MS Office products with knowledge of MS Project
Very fluent in spoken and written English with excellent communication style
Ability to mentor and teach subordinates and partners
Must be a self-starter with high ethics and ability to work under pressure in time-constrained environments
Must be flexible with high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work across cultures and time-zones
Willing to support a 24/7 on-call rotation schedule and work variable shifts, including weekends or overtime
Willingness to work off-hours and occasional off-shift schedules to support a 24/7/365 fleet
