About the role

  • Lead end-to-end event management across North America, including coffee meetups, workshops, and large-scale gatherings
  • Run ~80 events annually, create repeatable but adaptable playbooks, and ensure events strengthen brand and drive founder engagement
  • Manage a part-time event coordinator for logistics while owning full event delivery
  • Partner with investment, marketing, and leadership teams to align events with founder sourcing goals
  • Build relationships with universities, accelerators, incubators, early-stage VCs, and founder-facing influencers; co-host events with partners
  • Identify, pitch, secure, and manage event-level sponsorships end-to-end and ensure sponsor deliverables and ROI
  • Own event promotion and distribution, working with marketing to create assets and extend reach through partners
  • Iterate distribution playbooks per city and run A/B tests on formats and promo strategies
  • Develop and maintain dashboards tracking KPIs (attendance, lead quality, sourcing channel performance, cost-per-lead)
  • Share insights with marketing to improve go-to-market strategies and stay on event trends
  • Own the events budget and leverage AI/agentic workflows to streamline operations, reporting, and promotional processes

Requirements

  • Based in Toronto with the ability to attend in-person events and meetings
  • Ideally 5+ years of experience in events management and community building in tech or VC (open to proven high-volume event execution backgrounds)
  • Experience running high-volume events (~80 events annually) and creating repeatable playbooks
  • Experience managing vendors, venues, catering, and event logistics
  • Experience managing sponsor relationships and securing event-level sponsorships
  • Strong partnership skills to work with investment, marketing, and leadership teams
  • Metrics-driven: experience building and maintaining dashboards tracking attendance, lead quality, sourcing performance, cost-per-lead
  • Experience running A/B tests on event formats and promo strategies
  • Digitally native and comfortable experimenting with AI tools and sharing content online
  • Strong communicator and relationship-builder
  • Highly operational and organized; able to run dozens of events annually with precision
