Environmental Manager overseeing photovoltaic project development and environmental compliance. Collaborating with teams on project approvals and environmental impact assessments in a growing renewable energy company.
Responsibilities
Formalize and oversee the Group’s overall environmental strategy for photovoltaic power plant projects.
Contribute to the site qualifying process during the early development phase, taking into account the various environmental constraints.
Assist in improving authorization application files: on a case-by-case basis, building permits, water law dossiers, land-clearing authorizations, etc.
Support teams in selecting and consulting external consulting firms. Your knowledge of the quality of work delivered by different consultancies and of the expectations for these types of services will be valuable.
Review and analyze the environmental and landscape sections of documents accompanying the Group’s authorization applications (specific expert reports or full environmental impact studies), both in terms of form and substance.
The objective will be twofold: support the teams’ capacity-building on environmental matters; and provide direct assistance to teams on particularly complex issues.
Critically analyse feedback from external consultancies regarding the assessment of issues and impacts and their proposed mitigation measures.
Support teams in managing complex environmental issues throughout project development.
Monitor regulatory developments related to environmental aspects of solar projects.
Provide occasional support to asset management teams regarding the follow-up of environmental measures during the operation phase of plants, and to construction teams during the site/construction phase.
Requirements
At least five years’ experience as an environmental studies officer for the environmental assessment of photovoltaic projects.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and QGIS.
Strong engagement with your photovoltaic projects and a proactive mindset to help bring them to fruition.
Excellent writing skills and strong spelling (essential).
Curious and interested in energy and environmental issues.
Able to work autonomously and rigorous in assigned tasks.
Good communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.
Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Environmental Science, Ecology, or Engineering.
Holder of a valid Category B driving license.
