About the role

  • Support the completion and continuous improvement of key enterprise risk processes, including the development of Group risk artefacts: risk policy management, risk appetite maintenance, risk taxonomy and risk framework developments;
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise risk management, providing advice and challenging the application of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) across the Bank;
  • Support the development of the Bank’s risk data and MI strategy and framework;
  • Develop and implement clear standards and procedures for the aggregation and escalation of risk matters to ERC, BRC and Bank Board;
  • Assist with the production and analysis of risk MI for reporting to committees;
  • Research leading practices on enterprise risk management and develop proposals to continuously improve components of the ERMF;
  • Ongoing management of the Bank Risk Policy repository including co-ordinating bank wide communications as part of the annual refresh;
  • Lead the process for the production and quarterly reporting of the Bank Risk Culture Dashboard;
  • Secretary for the Top Risk Working Group and ensuring members contribute to the reporting of the Bank’s principal risks;
  • Manage the process for the ongoing tracking embedding and reporting on the status of material policy exceptions and risk acceptance requests;
  • Support the process for completing the bi-annual SMF attestation for the Group Chief Risk Officer.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of the theory and practice of risk management. Previous experience of enterprise risk management preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Awareness of good corporate governance principles and practices.
  • Previous experience of operating a GRC system preferred.
  • Comfortable with handling, transforming and visualising large amounts of data.
  • Personable and approachable.
  • Good interpersonal skills including the ability to challenge in a positive manner and handle difficult situations.
  • Analytical and logical skills.
  • Very strong organisational skills.
  • Good decision making, planning and prioritising skills.
  • A proven problem solver who is committed to continuous improvement.
