About the role
- Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and supporting the construction phase of structures for industrial projects at Zachry Engineering Corporation (Omaha, NE Design Center).
- Support senior engineers with planning, preparing and developing detailed design and specifications for major and complex structures, systems and equipment.
- Design concrete foundations for support of equipment and buildings in power plants and other industrial facilities.
- Design structural steel for industrial projects including platforms, pipe racks, and pipe and electrical supports.
- Work as the Responsible Engineer for assigned items, ensuring designs are on schedule and follow company quality processes.
- Perform material take offs of steel and concrete structures.
- Develop project specifications and review shop drawings.
- Participate in project planning and preparation of budgets and estimates.
- Serve in a technical capacity to provide solutions to complex engineering problems within the Civil / Structural department.
- Coordinate with other internal engineering disciplines on project designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of work-related industry experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Engineer in Training Certification and working towards Professional Engineer licensure.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills required.
- Proficient with Structural Engineering Software (STAAD Pro, RISA).
- Must posses authorization to work in the USA for any employer without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
