About the role
- Director supporting the Torchlight Asset Management Team at Bellwether. Engaging and empowering a talented team to drive asset management and client communication.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the proactive monitoring and hands-on asset management of a portfolio of real estate equity and debt investments
- Review and analyze business plans, property-operating performance and capital improvement projects
- Review and monitor marketing efforts, sales activity, and leasing
- Seek out and retain various third-party providers such as property managers, leasing and sales agents, property inspectors, and appraisers
- Liaison with operating partners and leading members of the Client(s) to review business plan execution and drive asset/portfolio performance
- Develop and maintain detailed asset-level cash flow reforecasting models
- Guide asset management team in the maintenance of detailed models to monitor the performance of investments
- Structure and implement various sensitivity analyses and stress tests at the deal-level to help guide clients
- Underwrite a variety of asset classes using Excel-based underwriting models
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities and effective management skills
- Involved with staff selection, interviewing, and training as needed
- Oversee the day-to-day workload and performance of direct reports
- Monitor performance and development of direct reports and provide constructive and timely feedback and coaching
- Work with direct reports to set individual goals and deadlines and conduct regular performance reviews
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years’ related experience
- A minimum of 7 years’ management experience
- Similar positions in asset management, acquisitions or development of commercial multifamily assets preferred
- Industry experience yielding strong relationships and global understanding of investment dynamics and deal processes
- Bachelor’s degree required
