About the role

  • Director of Conservation Programs leading strategies for agricultural land management at MALT. Collaborating with teams to enhance biodiversity and climate resilience through effective stewardship policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for land management solutions
  • Manage a team of 1 to 3 staff
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Leadership Team
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration on climate resilience and biodiversity
  • Manage funding received and grants made
  • Co-lead public outreach events and educational materials
  • Actively track and apply for funding for conservation programs

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of successful experience in conservation practice or related field, preferably nonprofit
  • Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience
  • Experience managing budgets, grant programs, and coordinating work of colleagues
  • Experience in partnership development and project management
  • Ability to work with agriculturalists and the agricultural community
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office
  • Physical requirements including hiking and lifting
