About the role
- Architect cloud-native GCP data platforms, migrate Teradata/SQL Server, and define data governance at Lloyds Banking Group.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver cloud-native data solutions on GCP to support systems of insight and engagement
- Own the migration of legacy platforms (Teradata, SQL Server) to GCP-native tooling
- Design and implement reusable data products for analytics, reporting and client engagement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into technical architecture and delivery roadmaps
- Define and implement data governance standards including metadata management and access controls
- Support DevOps practices using tools like Terraform, GitLab and Cloud Build
- Work alongside platform architects, data product owners and engineering teams to define technical direction
- Mentor others and contribute to a culture of learning and growth
Requirements
- Confirmed experience as a Data Solution Architect with hands-on expertise in GCP and/or Azure
- Strong proficiency in GCP services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer and Looker
- Experience migrating data from legacy platforms (Teradata, SQL Server) to GCP-native tooling
- Expertise in data modelling, pipeline development and real-time data streaming
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture, API integration and microservices
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and GitLab
