About the role

  • Work with the customer to materialize customer requirements/design according to analysis on customer requirement and internal platform requirement
  • Act as the bridge between the customer and internal engineering and testing teams; clarify customer requirement with customer/internal teams to avoid misunderstanding or misinterpretation
  • Lead related disciplines in Harman to understand customer expectations and drive internal team based on BMS, project needs, and customer requirements
  • Serve as main communication window based on customer requirement and internal standard, generic platform requirement, MNO requirement, wireless standard and regulation
  • Distribute customer requirement to project stakeholders for analysis and derivation of system requirement
  • Analyze and manage change requests from a customer or internal (store change records and maintain traceability)
  • Represent Harman to lead customer communications and obtain consensus when internal team raises proposals
  • Work closely with PM, hardware engineers, software engineers, manufacturing, suppliers, and quality assurance to drive successful project delivery to meet timing, cost and quality
  • Position reports to lead PM of program and organization perspective to report head of engineering or requirement department head

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Engineering experience in electronic or automotive business for at least 3 years
  • Knowledge on SW/HW architectures and Mobile Wireless Technology (DSPs, ARM, Memories, Multicore processing, WiFi, 5G, 4G/LTE, 3G, CDMA, 2G, Bluetooth)
  • Fluent in Japanese (Read, Write and Speaking)
  • Experience in Customer Relationship (JOEMs) especially Isuzu
  • Willing to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)
  • Willing to work client-site (Kanagawa) mainly
  • Willing to work in an office, and home office
  • Use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle; clean driving record (no more than 4 active points for moving violations; no references to operating a vehicle under the influence within last 10 years)
  • Successfully complete a background investigation/Aptitude Test
  • (Nice to have) Excellent system understanding in Telematics products
  • (Nice to have) Automotive CAN experience
  • (Nice to have) Automotive Ethernet experience
  • (Nice to have) Embedded system and software development and model-based familiarity
  • (Nice to have) Knowledge of Requirement Management tool DNG (DOORs)
  • (Nice to have) Knowledge of PLM system tool Siemens Teamcenter
  • (Nice to have) Knowledge of process models (e.g., Automotive SPICE)
  • Business level English preferred
