About the role

  • Contact borrowers in the early stages (1-59 days) of delinquency to counsel and negotiate payment arrangements
  • Evaluate borrower’s ability to pay and collect financial information in compliance with regulations
  • Educate borrowers on alternative solutions (repayment plans, loan modifications, short sales, Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure, and/or refinancing)
  • Use automated dialing system (Aspect Dialer) for inbound and outbound calls
  • Negotiate reasonable payment arrangements and initiate and explain required documents for Request for Mortgage Assistance packages
  • May function as the single point of contact for a borrower and escalate to licensed Loss Mitigation associate when needed
  • Provide status on payments and payoff inquiries; verify payment history and process payments
  • Assist with loan servicing website payments, denied access, and password resets
  • Respond to escrow, loss draft and closing document inquiries
  • Provide status on servicing functions including payment/credit disputes, escrow refunds/shortage, loss draft, short sale, Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure, modification/refinance requests, repayment plans, and additional mortgage activities
  • Support inbound Customer Service during high-volume days
  • Perform duties in accordance with company policies and applicable US state and federal laws

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in Spanish & English
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Less than one (1) year collections experience in a customer service/call center environment and/or loan servicing experience
  • Experience in the Banking, Mortgage/Loan Servicing industries preferred
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
