About the role

  • Business Development Manager developing outbound sales initiatives at PartySlate, a marketplace connecting event planners with vendors. Leading a team to drive revenue growth and optimize sales processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Business Development Representatives to achieve and exceed quarterly targets
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities and performance
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and accountability
  • Collaborate with HR on recruiting, onboarding, and developing top talent
  • Design, implement, and optimize comprehensive outbound prospecting strategies across multiple channels (email, phone, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Develop targeted account lists and segmentation strategies to maximize conversion rates
  • Create and refine outbound messaging, scripts, and cadences that resonate with target audiences
  • Implement A/B testing frameworks to continuously improve outreach effectiveness
  • Partner with Marketing to align outbound efforts with broader demand generation initiatives
  • Oversee and optimize the entire sales funnel from lead generation to qualified opportunity handoff
  • Streamline sales processes to improve efficiency and conversion rates
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and metrics to track team and individual performance
  • Ensure accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reporting
  • Maintain data integrity within CRM system and sales tools
  • Create and deliver regular reports to Director of Sales and executive leadership
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales to align outbound efforts with overall sales strategy
  • Partner with Sales team to ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunities
  • Collaborate with Marketing on lead scoring, content creation, and campaign alignment
  • Work with Product and Customer Success teams to gather insights and refine positioning
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to revenue growth initiatives
  • Select, implement, and manage sales automation and enablement tools
  • Optimize use of HubSpot CRM and integrated sales stack
  • Champion adoption of new technologies to improve team productivity
  • Ensure proper integration between sales tools and broader tech stack

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in business development, sales development, or related roles
  • 1+ years of experience as a team lead or directly managing and developing SDR/BDR teams
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding team quotas and KPIs
  • Experience building and implementing successful outbound sales strategies
  • Strong proficiency with HubSpot CRM or similar enterprise CRM systems
  • Experience in marketplace, SaaS, or events industry (preferred)
  • Experience with sales engagement platforms (Hubspot, Clay, Rocket Reach) (preferred)
  • Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration (preferred)
