About the role

  • Support process development and technical activities related to Shellback batch spray equipment, including process optimization, troubleshooting, and performance benchmarking.
  • Participate in customer-facing activities such as tool qualifications, process transfers, and on-site troubleshooting.
  • Provide process recommendations and data-driven feedback to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with R&D, equipment engineering, and field service teams to ensure integration between hardware and process performance.
  • Develop, evaluate, and optimize batch spray processes for clean, etch, strip, and surface preparation applications using Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology.
  • Perform data collection and analysis to establish process trends and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Best-Known-Method (BKM) documentation and technical collateral.
  • Prepare concise technical reports and presentations following customer engagements.
  • Maintain readiness of Applications Lab tools and ensure compliance with safety and procedural standards.
  • Follow chemical handling, labeling, storage, and waste management protocols (including HF, H2SO4, H2O2, and oxidizers).
  • Recommend process or equipment improvements to enhance lab capability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor wet process engineering (etch, clean, strip, or surface preparation).
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting semiconductor batch spray equipment or similar wet processing tools.
  • Strong data analysis and documentation skills with the ability to turn findings into recommendations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as applications engineering, process transfer, or field support (preferred).
  • Familiarity with cleanroom operations, DI water systems, chemical distribution, and waste handling (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and local EHS standards (preferred).
