About the role

  • Identify, evaluate and respond to financial risks inherent in the pricing and development of health insurance products
  • Advance Cost of Care strategies using data and technology
  • Prepare and interpret data and related formulae
  • Monitor trend of profit and profitability by line of business and/or product
  • Serve on major, multi-function projects as Actuarial representative
  • Organize and direct the staffing and work flow of the section
  • Work in-office at least 3 days per week to foster collaboration and connectivity

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS degree and minimum of 6 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience
  • FSA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA)
  • Strong ability to work with complex data sets, identify patterns, and interpret results
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS
  • Understanding of machine learning algorithms and AI concepts
  • Experience with data management systems and databases, including SQL
  • Knowledge of software and tools and awareness of new technologies
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Willingness to keep up-to-date with emerging technologies, data methodologies, and regulatory changes
