About the role

  • Lead and supervise accounting personnel, including external resources as needed, to achieve departmental goals.
  • Develop and deliver monthly reports and dashboards in collaboration with IT, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development for team members.
  • Conduct finance and system training for accounting staff and broader finance teams.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close and global consolidation activities.
  • Maintain and document internal controls across general accounting processes, including financial close, reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
  • Oversee global intercompany accounting to ensure proper elimination during consolidation.
  • Support financial reporting requirements, including internal management reports and statutory filings.
  • Manage accounting integration for acquisitions/divestitures, including intercompany transactions and legal entity changes.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within corporate accounting; promote best practices, lean standards, and automation.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and support the development and implementation of accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Tax department to ensure accurate accounting for income taxes under ASC 740.
  • Manage quarterly revenue deferral processes for North America in coordination with business units and customer service teams.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors regarding accounting matters.
  • Present in finance meetings and training sessions as needed.
  • Lead and participate in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience required.
  • CPA certification or Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical accounting, acquisition integration, or system implementation preferred.
  • Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Initiative-driven with a focus on continuous improvement and change management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to present effectively in small and large group settings.
  • High attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards Financials, Planning Analytics, and Power BI.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
