About the role

  • Business Analyst II analyzing and optimizing business processes within Seaspan's Victoria Shipyard. Bridging business needs and technology solutions for operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and document as-is and to-be business processes using ARIS or similar BPM tools
  • Support in the development and maintenance of E2E process architecture within one of the Seaspan units
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement or automation
  • Define business rules, process controls, and conceptual designs to support IT and process initiatives. Elicit, validate, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements
  • Maintain clear traceability between process models, business needs, and solution designs
  • Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure solution alignment
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business representatives
  • Develop test scenarios and acceptance criteria; track defects and results
  • Facilitate stakeholder review, sign-off, and readiness for go-live
  • Support process and system adoption post-implementation
  • Contribute to the preparation of SOPs, training materials, and process documentation
  • Participate in post-go-live stabilization, feedback collection, and benefit realization activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, or systems implementation/enhancements
  • Solid understanding of Business Process Management (BPM) and process architecture principles
  • Experience in documenting and optimizing end-to-end business processes
  • Hands-on experience with ARIS, Visio, or equivalent modelling tools
  • Working knowledge of requirements management and SDLC frameworks
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture (EA), Business Intelligence (BI), and Change Management concepts
  • Experience and familiarity with engineering and manufacturing processes are considered assets
  • Process modelling (BPMN 2.0 / VACD)
  • Business analysis & documentation
  • Requirements elicitation and stakeholder facilitation
  • Testing coordination and UAT support
  • Analytical and critical thinking
  • Experience with Aris, MS Visio, Azure DevOps, or equivalent enterprise tools preferred
  • Certification in Business Analysis (IIBA) or Lean Six Sigma is considered an asset
