About the role

  • Machining Quality Manager leading production quality systems at ZF in Gray Court, SC. Responsible for quality audits and enhancing manufacturing processes through continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, managing, developing, and evaluating all Production Quality, Gage Monitoring, and Measuring Equipment personnel, including hiring, training, performance management, and fostering an open door, issue free environment.
  • Overseeing and optimizing Production Quality, Gage Quality, and Quality Engineering functions to meet internal, customer, and automotive standards while driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • Managing measuring systems, gage calibration, and quality related machining procedures, including budgeting, supplier coordination, and resolving measuring system concerns.
  • Directing new product introductions and product changes using APQP/PPAP, ensuring proper documentation control, production control, capability studies, and compliance with quality requirements.
  • Supporting problem solving activities, corrective actions, Six Sigma tools, and troubleshooting for manufacturing processes; establish inspection/rework processes as needed.
  • Coordinating communication with internal and external customers, lead audits, support QMS development, and ensure KPI reporting, departmental goal setting, and alignment with corporate principles.
  • Providing leadership for a multi shift operation, including staffing, budget planning, business extension activities, and participation in Quality/Plant Management teams.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment and perform additional responsibilities such as resource planning, team coordination, coaching employees, and fulfilling other job related duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6–10+ years of advanced experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role within manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and proven leadership abilities.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Expert level knowledge of Quality Engineering concepts, principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Extensive experience in quality audits, quality systems, statistical process control, and advanced product planning.
  • Deep understanding of company products and services gained through experience and training.
  • Experience in project finance and/or budget planning.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
