Westermann Gruppe is one of the largest German publishers of educational media.
Our story begins at the Westermann publishing house in 1883 with the release of the first Diercke world atlas.
To this day, the Diercke is the most frequently used atlas in schools, universities and beyond.
With long-standing and well-known brands including Westermann, Schroedel, Diesterweg, Schöningh and Bildungsverlag EINS, Westermann Gruppe caters for the educational media needs of all school forms, at all levels, in all subjects and for all federal states.
In addition, we offer varied media resources for pre-school and extra-curricular learning as well as for vocational courses.
One of the largest German publishers of children and young adult books, Arena Verlag, is likewise part of Westermann Gruppe, producing audio books for children and adults.
Our other branches and publishing partners produce educational material especially for the Austrian and Swiss markets.
More and more Westermann products are finding their way onto the international market: for instance, children in 35 different countries between the ages of 2 and 13 play and learn with our learning system, LÜK.
For schools in various countries, for example Brazil and the USA, Westermann has an innovative game-based mathematics learning system in its portfolio: Mangahigh.com.
With our printing presses and service companies guaranteeing the production and distribution of our own publications, we are also able to provide such services for both national and international customers.
