About the role

  • AI Engineer enhancing educational processes through modern technologies at Westermann GmbH. Responsibilities include platform development, use case analysis, and collaboration with application development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, expansion and operation of the AI platform and its infrastructure
  • Development of robust data and model pipelines and continuous technology evaluation
  • Analysis of diverse use cases and design of appropriate AI architectures
  • Development of prototype interfaces for internal testing
  • Close collaboration with application development to integrate AI services
  • Define standards, guidelines and best practices for AI development.

Requirements

  • Experience or strong willingness to learn concepts such as RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), vector databases/embeddings and prompting
  • Proficient with Python and experienced with Docker, as well as modern deployment and CI pipelines
  • Ideally experience with modern web stacks (e.g., Angular, Node.js) and data modeling
  • Pragmatic, hands-on mentality and comfortable with direct exchange in a team with short communication paths
  • Very good German and solid English skills
  • Interest in embedding AI meaningfully into modern educational processes.
