About the role

  • Sales Director responsible for market development and customer growth within Portugal. Leading local team and collaborating with HQ to drive business success in technical sales.

Responsibilities

  • Market development: Build new business relationships and identify/prioritize market potential across segments, regions, use cases, and partners in Portugal
  • Grow existing accounts: Systematically expand current customer relationships (share of wallet, cross-/upsell, multi-site rollouts)
  • Pipeline & forecasting: Own opportunities, quotes, projects, and contacts in Salesforce/SAP; deliver reliable forecasts
  • Site leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the local team; set clear goals, run 1:1s, reviews
  • P&L ownership: Manage revenue, margin, and OPEX; steer pricing, terms, and profitability
  • Go-to-market: Drive local campaigns, events/associations, and build a partner/channel network (distributors, system integrators)
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with HQ (Product, Marketing, Operations, Finance) and the Regional Sales Manager
  • Reporting: Provide structured updates on pipeline, win/loss, competition, risks, and actions

Requirements

  • Completed university degree or equivalent qualification, ideally with a technical background combined with commercial expertise
  • Several years of professional experience in technical sales, preferably within an international environment
  • Leadership experience is considered an advantage
  • Familiarity with SAP and Salesforce is a plus
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Business-fluent proficiency in English
  • Strong team orientation and willingness to contribute within a small team setting
  • Independent, structured, and solution-driven approach to work
