About the role

  • Junior Manager Music Programming at Universal Music managing streaming products and playlists. Engaging fans through innovative content and supporting labels with artist releases.

Responsibilities

  • You keep an eye on the streaming market and stay up to date with current trends
  • You identify potential for streaming products and develop suitable listening experiences
  • You conceptualize and create new streaming products — from the title and musical content to the appropriate brand identity (CI)
  • You manage a portfolio of playlists across all relevant streaming platforms (e.g., Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music)
  • You monitor all KPIs and optimize your playlists' performance using quantitative and qualitative data and analyses
  • You liaise closely with our labels to support their current releases and catalogue as effectively as possible through our playlist portfolio
  • You explore new playlist marketing channels, implement campaigns with the team, and independently analyze and optimize them
  • You expand our network of playlist curators and place our songs in external playlists

Requirements

  • You have completed commercial/vocational training or hold a degree in media, communications, business/economics, or a comparable field of study
  • You already have experience in music programming, media, and marketing, and ideally have worked at a label or streaming provider
  • You find it easy to create playlists for different moments and situations
  • You have broad musical knowledge and, ideally, deeper familiarity with German and international pop and rap/hip‑hop genres
  • You know how to interpret data and are proficient with analytics tools
  • You have excellent written and verbal German (C2) and are comfortable communicating in English (B2) — communication is one of your strengths
  • You know the music market and are well connected within the music business
