About the role

  • Sr Data Analyst at ChemPoint optimizing technology systems and translating business objectives into functional requirements. Collaborating with technology partners and stakeholders to enhance operational systems.

Responsibilities

  • Translates business objectives into functional requirements and solution designs
  • Plans, designs, implements, and supports technology system changes while working closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders
  • Takes plans from conception through closing
  • Responsible for reviewing project-related business analysis, identifying functional and systems requirements, and preparing specifications to support application development and product implementation
  • Works with system architects and developers to ensure requirements are satisfied
  • Acts as a liaison to the business to address challenges or required modifications
  • Assists with backlog grooming and prioritization with the business
  • Develops queries and user reports to pull and evaluate data
  • Uses data to identify root cause problems in systems and processes
  • Develops routine metrics that provide data for process management and indicators for future improvement opportunities
  • Measures system and process performance against requirements
  • Aligns projects to achieve improvements that close performance shortfalls
  • Analyzes project requirements, constructs workflow charts and diagrams, determines system capabilities, and assist with writing technical specifications for new application design and enhancements
  • Builds testing plans, scenarios, and scripts to support QA efforts
  • Coordinates user acceptance testing (UAT) and participates in unit/system tests
  • Implements routine operational process improvements
  • Assists management in assessing degree of risk impact, timeframe, and cost of re-engineering required to achieve the desired future state
  • Develops mitigation options for identified risks
  • Develops training materials and provides training using multiple methods such as instructor-led sessions, webinars, one-on-one, etc.
  • Provides end-user application support for all applicable applications, including troubleshooting errors, coordinating with vendors, managing support tickets, and testing solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from fully accredited four year institution or equivalent years of work experience required
  • Experience in Business-to-Business (B2B) service organization, preferably as a Data Analyst with 7+ years equivalent experience
  • Proficiency and experience working with MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills
  • Proficiency and experience working with SQL, SnowSQL, and Azure SQL
  • Proficiency and experience building Power BI reports, with strong skills in DAX & M Language
  • Experience with Python for data analysis preferred
  • Familiarity with R or MATLAB a plus
  • Proficiency of systems analyst techniques and tools
  • Strong understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of product in area of focus (CRM, ERP, Marketing, and Web Technologies)
  • Ability to assess data quickly and convert to meaningful information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey ideas and suggestions via multiple modes of communication
  • Exhibits versatility and adaptability while interacting with customers, suppliers and outsourced relationships
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a team environment
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and critical thinking
  • Receptive to constructive feedback from peers and mentors.
