About the role

  • Join Under Armour's finance team as an Accountant in Amsterdam. Handle month-end closing, general ledger entries, and compliance for financial accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month and year-end closing procedures for your assigned area of responsibility (SG&A, Intercompany) including, but not limited to, bookkeeping, reviewing of financial information, preparing and posting journal entries, and preparing account reconciliations, variance analysis and transactional research. In scope 14 Legal Entities.
  • Prepare and manage general ledger entries and accruals
  • Perform reconciliation of the balance sheet to ensure accuracy of financials
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of Month End Closing activities
  • Ensure accurate technical accounting, both local and US GAAP
  • Support internal and external audits and participate in tax audits
  • Ensure compliance with key internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Keep relevant Desktop procedures and processes up to date and document new ones accordingly
  • Identify and implement controls, processes and system improvements
  • Support the Under Armour Corporate team on ad hoc issues and improvement projects where required
  • Maintain close collaboration with FP&A and other stakeholders
  • Other ad hoc duties deemed necessary by the Senior Manager Accounting

Requirements

  • Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of US GAAP, general ledger functions, and the month-end close process
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in data analytics
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and diverse environment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Team player with a demonstrated ability to influence others beyond direct team peers
  • Fluency in English
