Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial statements/reporting packages, including journal entries, reconciling and rolling forward balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper coding of income and expense items, bank reconciliations, and variance explanations.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing financial data and supporting documentation.
Assist in maintaining compliance with internal controls and company processes.
Prepare quarterly and annual loan compliance reporting for lenders.
Assist in providing external tax preparers with information necessary to prepare entity-level tax returns.
Manage cash flow for the assigned property portfolio.
Work closely with property managers, asset managers, and other stakeholders to achieve property objectives and financial goals.
Communicate effectively and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in accounting, and 3-5 years' experience in accounting.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA), preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is essential.
Proficient in financial analysis and financial reporting.
Understanding of lease accounting, property valuation methods, and industry-specific financial metrics.
Experience with accounting software and property management systems is often required.
Proficient in using software such as Entrata, Yardi, MRI Software, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with colleagues, tenants, vendors, and other stakeholders.
