About the role

  • Vice President leading the Project Management Office, ensuring high-quality project delivery at Unboxed. Responsible for strategic leadership and project management practices to align with company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Define, build, and continuously evolve the Project Management Office to support Unboxed’s strategic objectives.
  • Establish and maintain PMO standards, methodologies, tools, templates, and governance practices.
  • Lead portfolio planning and prioritization in partnership with the COO and executive leadership.
  • Ensure projects are aligned to business goals, capacity, and client commitments.
  • Develop and track portfolio-level KPIs and dashboards to provide transparency into delivery health, risks, and outcomes
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of projects and programs, from intake and planning through execution, delivery, and closure.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex or high-risk projects, proactively resolving issues and removing obstacles.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, on budget, and to quality standards.
  • Apply and optimize appropriate delivery approaches (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) based on project needs.
  • Act as a hands-on leader on select strategic or high-impact initiatives as needed.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, fostering a high-performing, accountable PMO team.
  • Set clear expectations, performance goals, and career development paths for project management roles.
  • Conduct regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of project managers as the organization grows.
  • Build a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and delivery excellence within the PMO.
  • Partner with executive leadership, functional leaders, and client-facing teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.
  • Provide clear, concise, and consistent communication on project and portfolio status to the COO and leadership team.
  • Establish and maintain effective reporting practices for timelines, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on delivery strategy, capacity planning, and execution risk.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and ways of working.
  • Lead post-project reviews and ensure lessons learned are captured and applied.
  • Promote disciplined execution while maintaining flexibility and simplicity.
  • Champion best practices that improve predictability, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in project or program management.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a PMO or project management function.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills with a demonstrated ability to coach and develop teams.
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies, governance, and portfolio management.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence.
  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, SAFe, or similar certifications preferred.
  • Experience in learning, training, technology, SaaS, or professional services environments preferred.
