Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management oversight to less experienced IT Portfolio Managers.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for improving IT portfolio performance to provide a competitive advantage to the business and finds ways to improve the business through the use of technology.
- Responsible for leadership, planning, and direction of the IT and business portfolio.
- Partner with executive IT leadership to understand current commitments and determine future plans.
- Lead a team to facilitate portfolio alignment with business strategy, justification and business value, and enable enterprise prioritization of projects, portfolio balancing and resource allocation to maximize value.
- Responsible for the overall development and ongoing management of a governance framework and enterprise processes for resource/time management, demand management and portfolio management.
- Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices.
- May play lead role or technical consultant role in large or complex projects or initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and twelve years of experience in IT or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
- Meeting management, conflict management, and presentation skills.
- Ability to plan effectively.
- Ability to manage client expectations and relationship in a way that results in an effective team environment.
- Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge of portfolio management.
- Ability to translate business strategies and emerging external trends to organizational and operational tactics.
- Ability to solve unique and highly complex technical, operational, and organizational problems.
- Ability to lead and manage the performance of multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives.
- Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical and business problems.
