About the role

• DevOps Engineer deploying and monitoring solutions for thousands of clients. Working in an agile environment using modern tools like AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in collaboration with the Architecture and Engineering teams
• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code for development and production environments
• Design, implement, and maintain observability and monitoring solutions, and track system health while taking necessary actions to meet uptime and performance commitments, including participation in an on-call rotation
• Design, implement, and maintain continuous delivery systems and advise development teams on code, implementation, resilience, operability, and best practices
• Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes clusters with advanced configurations and features
• Design, implement, and maintain Kafka clusters with advanced configurations and features
• Identify single points of failure and recommend solutions within our infrastructure

Requirements

• Education – Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred
• Experience – Minimum 3 years of relevant DevOps experience in a SaaS environment
• Expertise in distributed systems, including load balancing, distributed messaging, and distributed databases
• Expertise in software configuration management (SCM) and/or tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or equivalent
• Expertise in cloud platforms, primarily AWS
• Expertise in automated deployment methodologies supporting CI/CD/CM using Git, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions (preferred)
• Experience configuring and administering Kubernetes clusters using advanced features including non-standard networking, storage classes/claims, namespaces, and multiple node pools
• Experience configuring and administering Kafka clusters, including disaster recovery mechanisms, data-loss prevention techniques, and topic configuration to support demanding and variable loads
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems and tools
• Prior professional experience in application development, particularly in a SaaS and web development context
• Knowledge of IP networking, including TCP, UDP, firewalls, and SSL
• Knowledge of engineering and software design principles such as design patterns, architectural patterns, the CAP theorem, event-driven architectures, etc.
• Security-minded at all levels
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to approach problems in a structured way and deliver reliable solutions
